Job summary

Philips, Best, Netherlands, offers a 6-month Internship: AI & Automation (non-thesis) focused on strengthening the security control framework through AI and automated workflows. You will map data needs and develop a pilot-ready PoC, testing with stakeholders and delivering clear recommendations.

You are pursuing a Bachelor or Master in Data Science, AI, CS or Cybersecurity with experience in data analysis and rapid prototyping, comfortable with imperfect real-world data.

Qualifications

• You are pursuing a Bachelor or Master in Data Science, AI, CS, Cybersecurity or related discipline.
• Experience with data analysis and rapid prototyping through coursework/projects/previous work.
• Comfortable with incomplete or imperfect real-world data.
• Able to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Curious, proactive and eager to learn about information security.
• Experience with real-life AI and AI-supported automation in cybersecurity is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize opportunities to improve the security control framework with AI and automation.
• Map assessment workflows, stakeholder needs, data sources and practical constraints.
• Prepare, structure and analyze real-world security data.
• Develop proof-of-concept AI-assisted or automated workflows and support progression toward a pilot.
• Define evaluation measures covering quality, reliability, false positives/negatives, explainability and user trust.
• Apply privacy, information-security, traceability and human-review requirements throughout the work.
• Test prototypes with stakeholders, incorporate feedback and communicate findings with analyses, visuals and recommendations.
• Document the approach, limitations and next steps for team continuity.
