Job summary

Waterland in Bussum is seeking an AI Engineer to operate as a horizontal AI specialist across Central Services, shaping use cases and delivering real AI solutions. You will translate business needs into scalable AI-enabled systems and work with Finance, Legal, HR, and others to drive measurable impact.

The role blends strategic thinking with hands-on development, including LLM-based applications, APIs, and cloud deployments. Fluency in Dutch and English is required.

Qualifications

5–8 years of experience as software or AI engineer.
Proven AI-powered tools or products: LLM apps, agents, copilots, or automations.
Strong Python proficiency.
Experience with multiple cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with internal clients and senior stakeholders.
Ability to scope problems and deliver MVPs.
Excellent Dutch and English communication.

Responsibilities

Identify AI opportunities across Central Services.
Design, build, deploy end-to-end AI solutions.
Own full-stack AI projects including LLM apps and APIs.
Ensure security, governance, and maintainability.
Collaborate with IT, vendors, and internal teams.
Monitor adoption and iterate based on feedback.
