Job summary

Mistral AI is seeking a Domain Expert in crashworthiness simulations to advance AI-powered simulation capabilities for industrial engineering. Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in mechanical/engineering related field.
• 4+ years of relevant industrial experience in automotive/aerospace/consumer electronics.
• Hands-on experience with explicit dynamics for crash or impact simulation.

Responsibilities

• Define, generate, and iteratively improve crashworthiness datasets for AI physics models.
• Design and run high-fidelity simulation campaigns using Abaqus, LS-DYNA, Ansys Mechanical, Radioss.
• Define variation space for training data: geometry, material behavior, boundary conditions, loading, joints, failure modes, KPIs.
• Build or guide automated pipelines for simulation setup, execution, post-processing, dataset creation, and model evaluation.
• Train and evaluate AI models on simulation data and diagnose failure modes from data gaps or artifacts.
• Evaluate model outputs against industrial engineering needs and KPI definitions.
• Collaborate with customers to understand their workflows and incorporate feedback into model development.
