Job summary

Maandag is seeking an AI & Automation Engineer – Data Center Infrastructure to join a global technology organisation transforming enterprise infrastructure operations. The role focuses on automating, observing, and improving reliability across compute, virtualization, storage, backup and hybrid cloud.

You will build self-service workflows, AI-assisted operational solutions, automated remediation and closed-loop processes, ranging from Ansible and IaC to AI agents, AIOps and predictive insights.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Data Center, Infrastructure, Cloud, Virtualization or Automation Engineering.
• Strong hands‑on experience with enterprise infrastructure and operations.
• Solid knowledge of Windows Server, Linux/Unix, Active Directory, DNS and DHCP.
• Experience with VMware and/or Hyper‑V, preferably also HCI and hybrid infrastructure.
• Experience with enterprise storage, backup and recovery platforms; Cohesity experience is a strong advantage.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Ansible Automation Platform.
• Good programming and scripting skills in Python, PowerShell and/or Bash.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, YAML, Git and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Experience with Azure, Azure Local/Azure Stack HCI or hybrid cloud environments.
• Understanding of SRE, PRE or MIRE principles, SLI/SLO, MTTR and operational reliability.
• Practical experience with AI, Copilot, AIOps or intelligent automation.
• Experience integrating infrastructure platforms with ServiceNow, CMDB and monitoring solutions.
• Understanding of secure automation, Zero Trust, least privilege and controlled autonomous operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Build self-service workflows and AI-assisted operational solutions.

We are looking for an AI & Automation Engineer – Data Center Infrastructure to join a global technology organisation that is transforming the way enterprise infrastructure is operated.

Within Global Information Services, you will help modernise infrastructure operations across compute, virtualization, storage, backup, operating systems and hybrid cloud.

The goal is practical: reduce repetitive work, improve reliability, make infrastructure easier to consume and detect and resolve issues before they become incidents.

You will help move infrastructure operations from traditional ticket- and runbook-driven support towards a more proactive engineering model based on automation, observability and reliability engineering.

You will build self-service workflows, AI-assisted operational solutions, automated remediation and closed-loop processes. Your work will range from Ansible and Infrastructure-as-Code to AI agents, AIOps and predictive infrastructure insights.

Job Requirements

We are looking for someone with:

• 10+ years of experience in Data Center, Infrastructure, Cloud, Virtualization or Automation Engineering.
• Strong hands‑on experience with enterprise infrastructure and operations.
