Job summary

ABN AMRO is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to play a pivotal role in scaling detection and response capabilities. You will design and deploy AI solutions, transform data at scale, and mentor teammates while collaborating with cross‑functional groups.

You will work in an agile, collaborative environment with a strong emphasis on innovation, continuous learning, and security excellence within the CISO Cyber Defence team.

Qualifications

• Quantitative MSc or PhD or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of work experience in data science or machine learning.
• Strong knowledge of ML algorithms and data science techniques.
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL.
• Experience implementing end‑to‑end ML in production.

Responsibilities

• Agentic Workflows: design and implement workflows to strengthen security controls.
• Problem Solving: identify problems using data science and guide stakeholders to solutions.
• Data Mastery: perform ETL on large datasets for production readiness.
• Model Development: apply state‑of‑the‑art ML techniques with balance of simplicity and sophistication.
• Production Deployment: evaluate and deploy models in production environments.
• Collaboration: communicate results to stakeholders and educate end users.
• Mentorship: guide junior team members daily.
• Knowledge Sharing: lead sessions to improve team efficiency.
