Job summary

Adyen in Amsterdam is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the Anti-Money Laundering team, building and operating robust ML systems at scale in production environments.

You will own production ML pipelines, upgrade a rules-heavy system to a modern AI/ML engine, collaborate with data engineers and analysts, and work with operations and compliance teams to ensure global operation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as an engineer in the machine learning domain.
• Proficient Python programmer with production ML lifecycle experience.
• Experience leveraging big data to feed ML pipelines.
• Strong software engineering practices, data engineering and MLOps knowledge.
• Solid understanding of data science, statistics and ML techniques.
• Familiarity with Python data science tools: Spark, SQL, TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost/LightGBM, Pandas, MLFlow or similar, and Airflow.
• Experience with ML infrastructure (K8s, Docker, Airflow, Argo Workflows, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects from ideation to deployment and communicate complex outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production ML pipelines for data ingestion, training, validation, and deployment.
• Upgrade a rules-heavy system to a modern automated AI/ML engine.
• Collaborate with data engineers and data analysts to build best-in-class FinTech models.
• Work with operations and compliance to ensure models run worldwide without issues.
• Tackle challenges like extreme class imbalance and incomplete ground truth.
• Promote strong engineering practices and robust ML governance.
