Job summary

APM Terminals Maasvlakte II in Rotterdam is seeking an experienced accounting professional to help build a best-in-class finance function for a rapidly scaling business.

You will own statutory and financial reporting, lead month-end close, coordinate audits, ensure tax compliance, and partner with JV and governance topics while developing a small accounting team in an international, Lean-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in accounting, audit, or finance.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar (RA / CPA is a plus, not a must).
• Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP / IFRS, audit processes, and controls.
• Experience in complex or regulated environments is a plus.
• Proactive, hands-on, and comfortable with ambiguity.
• Clear communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English and Dutch (must have).

Responsibilities

• Own and ensure accurate and compliant statutory and financial reporting.
• Lead month-end and year-end processes in collaboration with the Shared Service Centre.
• Coordinate and manage internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements.
• Act as finance partner in joint venture and shareholder governance topics.
• Oversee cash flow, banking, and financing structures.
• Drive improvements in process efficiency, controls, and reporting quality.
• Support and develop a small accounting team (partly remote).
