Job summary

MR MARVIS in Amsterdam is seeking a Team Lead Accounting to strengthen our General Ledger, own the month‑end close, and coach a growing team of GL accountants.

This role blends hands‑on accounting with pragmatic process improvement as we scale internationally. You’ll drive fixed assets, prepayments, and audit prep while supporting auditors and cross‑functional partners to ensure accuracy and compliant reporting.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in GL accounting in fast‑growing retail or e‑commerce.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and reconciliations.
• Proactive in identifying issues and improving workflows.
• Experience coaching junior and medior accountants is a plus.
• Fluent in accounting standards and high accuracy control; proficient with Excel.

Responsibilities

• Own the Closing Cycle: lead the month‑end and year‑end closes for Accounting.
• Coach and review work from junior and medior GL accountants.
• Own Fixed Asset register and depreciation; manage lease liability postings.
• Handle prepayments, deferred expenses, and year‑end audit prep.
• Identify process improvements to boost efficiency and automation.
• Improve balance sheet reconciliations and reporting for assets and liabilities.
• Serve as main contact with external auditors during audits.
