Job summary

Chin Hin Group Berhad seeks an experienced Marine Engineer to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all mechanical, electrical, and technical systems on yachts. You will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and support vessel readiness while upholding safety and regulatory standards.

The role covers technical operations, safety compliance, shore-based yacht base support, and documentation. Requires a Diploma/Degree in Marine Engineering with at least 5 years of marine/ yacht

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marine engineering, yacht operations, or similar field.
• Prior experience working on yachts or marine vessels is highly advantageous.
• Strong technical expertise in marine engines, mechanical systems, and onboard equipment.
• Proven hands‑on troubleshooting and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Understanding of maritime safety regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair of yacht engines, generators, and auxiliary systems.
• Ensure all mechanical and electrical systems are functioning efficiently.
• Troubleshoot faults and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Monitor and maintain onboard systems and ensure readiness for operations.

The Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all mechanical, electrical, and technical systems onboard yachts. The role includes maintenance, troubleshooting, and supporting vessel readiness for operations while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Technical Operations & Maintenance
  • Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair of yacht engines, generators, and auxiliary systems
  • Ensure all mechanical and electrical systems are functioning efficiently
  • Troubleshoot faults and implement corrective actions promptly
  • Monitor and maintain onboard systems
  • Ensure proper calibration and upkeep of technical equipment
• 2. Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, safety standards, and company SOPs
  • Conduct regular safety checks and participate in emergency drills
  • Maintain logs and records of maintenance and repairs
  • Report defects, incidents, and safety concerns promptly
• 3. Yacht Base Support (Shore-based when required)
  • Assist in pre-departure and post-arrival technical inspections
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers for parts and repairs
  • Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components
• 4. Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate engineering logs and maintenance records
  • Prepare technical reports and service documentation
  • Ensure all certifications and documentation are up to date
