Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to manage planning, coordination, and execution of shipbuilding projects in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a marine/mechanical/naval architecture or related field and at least 5 years of relevant experience. You will oversee engineering activities, coordinate with clients and production teams, and ensure safety, on-time delivery within budget and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline is required.
• 5+ years of shipbuilding, offshore, or marine engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of project management, engineering coordination, fabrication and commissioning.
• Experience with ship owners, shipyards, offshore operators or classification societies is advantageous.
• Willingness to work full-time in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate shipbuilding, offshore, or marine engineering projects from award to completion.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, risks, and progress to ensure successful delivery.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities and resolve technical issues.
• Liaise with clients, classification societies, vendors, subcontractors, and internal departments.
• Support procurement, fabrication, testing, commissioning, and project handover.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare project reports, manage documentation, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

• Experience working with ship owners, shipyards, offshore operators, or classification societies is advantageous.
• Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with project management software is an advantage.
• Willingness to work full-time in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia.
