Job summary

YTL Cement Group in Shah Alam seeks a skilled Mechanic - Wheel Loader to provide maintenance, servicing, troubleshooting and repairs for wheel loaders under YTL Technologies. Role includes on-site and workshop work to keep equipment safe and productive with minimal downtime.

The candidate will diagnose faults, perform major and minor repairs, and support multiple plant sites as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards and efficient operation.

Qualifications

• Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive or Heavy Equipment.
• 3–5 years in heavy equipment / wheel loader repair and maintenance.
• Driving licence Class H is advantageous.
• Knowledge of wheel loader and heavy equipment systems (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical).
• Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Independently perform field and workshop repairs.
• Strong teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to travel outstation when required.
• Commitment to safety, quality and minimising downtime.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive maintenance, servicing, inspection and repair of wheel loaders at sites and workshop.
• Perform repair works on engine, hydraulic, transmission, electrical and other systems.
• Replace and repair GET, buckets and wear parts.
• Carry out major repairs and testing for wheel loaders in the workshop.
• Respond to breakdowns with on-site repairs to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose faults, identify root causes and propose actions.
• Communicate with plant personnel and operators on repair status.
• Record repair activities and parts used.
• Ensure proper use of tools and safety compliance.
• Travel to other sites for support as required.
• Carry out truck repair at base workshop when idle.
