Job summary

Private Advertiser in Kuching, Sarawak is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to service and repair construction and lifting machinery. You will work on forklifts, boom lifts, and scissor lifts, performing preventive maintenance and on-site repairs as required.

The ideal candidate holds a mechanical engineering diploma or related certificate and has 1-2 years of hands-on experience with heavy equipment.

Qualifications

• Trade-craft oriented requirement: SPM/SKM or diploma in mechanical-related fields.
• 1–2 years of working experience as a mechanic, preferably with heavy equipment.
• Experience with forklifts, boom lifts or scissor lifts is a plus.
• Ability to read gauges and use basic diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Repair and service construction and heavy lifting machinery including forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts.
• Perform servicing, oil changes, lubrication, part replacements and overhauls.
• Attend to equipment breakdowns on-site and carry out prompt repairs.
• Maintain records of findings, servicing, repairs, inspections and parts used.
• Keep workshop tools and work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Ensure compliance with workshop safety standards and PPE usage.
• Assist supervisor with other mechanical or maintenance duties.

Location: Kuching, Sarawak

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out repairing and servicing work of construction and heavy lifting machinery including forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lift.
• Perform servicing, oil changes, lubrication, adjustments, replacement of parts, and general overhaul works
• Attend to equipment breakdowns at sites and carry out necessary repairs promptly.
• Maintain proper records of findings, servicing, repairs, inspections, and spare parts used.
• Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Ensure compliance with workshop safety standards and PPE usage.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, workbench, and work area.
• Carry out any other mechanical or maintenance duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

• SPM / SKM / Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, or a related field.
• At least 1-2 years of working experience as a mechanic, preferably in heavy equipment, construction, lifting equipment.
• Experience in maintaining forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, or other heavy lifting machinery will be an added advantage.
• Ability to use mechanical measurement tools and basic diagnostic equipment.
• Possess a valid Malaysia driving licence (Class D). GDL will be an advantage.
• Good teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Responsible, punctual, disciplined, and able to work with minimum supervision.
