Job summary

As-Sufi Food Industries Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a wastewater treatment plant operator to operate, monitor and control equipment across all unit processes to ensure optimal performance and compliance. You will conduct regular rounds, record operating data, adjust key parameters (pH, DO, COD, BOD, TSS, turbidity) and collect samples for lab testing.

You’ll troubleshoot basic issues, coordinate with maintenance, keep logs for regulatory records, and be willing to work shifts and respond to

Qualifications

• Diploma or technical qualification in environmental/chemical/mechanical engineering.
• 1–3 years’ experience operating a wastewater treatment plant.
• Knowledge of biological, chemical and physical wastewater treatment.
• CePIETSO certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and discharge standards.
• Ability to read operating manuals, P&IDs, and process flow diagrams.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and on-call.
• Physically fit for industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and control plant equipment across unit processes.
• Conduct plant rounds, record data and identify abnormalities.
• Control parameters such as pH, DO, COD, BOD, and turbidity.
• Collect samples and support laboratory testing.
• Identify issues, troubleshoot and coordinate with maintenance.
• Maintain logs of data, tests, inspections and regulatory records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
