Job summary

Dialight Penang Sdn Bhd in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a Warranty & Quality Engineer to manage customer complaints, warranty claims, product returns (RMA) and field failures from investigation through closure.

You will conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations with Quality, Manufacturing and Engineering teams, drive CAPA actions, and coordinate the full warranty/RMA process to ensure timely resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Warranty, Customer Quality, Failure Analysis, Quality Engineering or similar manufacturing environment.
• Experience in customer complaint handling, RMA/warranty processes and failure analysis.
• Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D and corrective action processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Good command of English, both written and verbal.
• Able to work independently and effectively with cross-functional teams and customers.
• Knowledge of LED technology or electronic products will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer complaints, warranty claims, product returns (RMA) and field failures from investigation through closure.
• Conduct and coordinate failure analysis and root cause investigation with Quality, Manufacturing and Engineering teams.
• Drive and follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence of customer issues.
• Coordinate the complete warranty/RMA process, including inspection, rework, testing and return of products to customers.
• Prepare failure analysis, 8D/corrective action and warranty reports for customers, Sales and Management.
• Analyse warranty and customer return data to identify failure trends, recurring problems and improvement opportunities.
• Liaise closely with Customer Service, Sales, Production, Quality, Planning and Engineering on customer-related technical issues.
• Maintain accurate warranty and failure-analysis records and ensure timely updates in the company's system.
• Prepare monthly warranty performance reports and present key issues, trends and improvement actions to Management.
• Supervise and coordinate warranty activities to ensure timely response and closure of customer issues.
• Support continuous improvement and compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
