Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior infrastructure leader to head cloud, network, and IT teams in a distributed environment. You will shape the infra organisation, guide AWS-centric architecture, and drive IaC adoption with Terraform while improving CI/CD processes.

In this role, you will partner with engineering to deliver scalable, high-availability infrastructure, oversee incident response, and mentor engineers across regions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading infrastructure, cloud, or platform teams.
• Strong experience across cloud, networking, systems, and hybrid environments (AWS and on‑prem).
• Hands‑on with AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, ALB/NLB, CloudWatch).
• Hands‑on with Terraform or similar IaC tools, building reusable infrastructure across environments.
• Experience designing or improving CI/CD pipelines and addressing deployment inconsistencies.

Job description

• Lead and develop the infrastructure function, with responsibility for managing cloud, network, and internal IT teams
• Shape and evolve the infrastructure organisation, improving team structure, role clarity, and technical capability across cloud, networking, and systems functions
• Provide technical oversight of AWS infrastructure, guiding architecture decisions across services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, ALB/NLB, and CloudWatch to ensure scalable and reliable systems
• Drive improvements in infrastructure practices, including Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Improve CI/CD processes and deployment workflows, addressing gaps between environments and ensuring stable, predictable releases into production
• Partner closely with engineering teams to translate application requirements into robust infrastructure solutions
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of infrastructure systems
• Oversee incident response processes, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of system reliability and operational performance
• Support a distributed engineering environment
• Manage relationships with infrastructure vendors and internal stakeholders
• Provide hands‑on guidance where needed, mentoring engineers and setting technical direction

Requirements

• Proven experience leading and managing infrastructure, cloud, or platform teams
• Strong experience across cloud infrastructure, networking, systems, and hybrid environments (AWS and on‑prem)
• Solid hands‑on background with AWS, including experience working with services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, ALB/NLB, and CloudWatch in production environments
• Hands‑on experience with Terraform (or similar IaC tools), including implementing reusable infrastructure across multiple environments
• Experience designing or improving CI/CD pipelines and addressing deployment inconsistencies across development, testing, and production environments
• Experience designing or overseeing scalable, highly available infrastructure systems, with strong understanding of performance and resilience patterns
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices, automation, and infrastructure delivery processes
• Exposure to application development environments (e.g. Node.js or similar) with the ability to understand application requirements and support infrastructure accordingly
• Proven ability to introduce and enforce infrastructure processes, standards, and operational discipline across teams
• Strong experience with incident response, root cause analysis, and improving operational reliability
• Experience working closely with engineering teams to support product and platform requirements
• Experience working with distributed teams across multiple regions or time zones.
