Job summary

A leading digital business firm is seeking a VP, Head of Digital Engineering to oversee IT development for the Zurich Edge Platform in APAC. In this role, you will own application development and ensure technical teams adopt best practices. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in IT leadership, particularly within SaaS environments. You will drive speed to market, maintain system observability, and implement robust engineering practices, contributing to the growth of the digital business across the region.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT application development and operations management.
• Leadership skills in managing cross-functional teams and initiatives.
• Familiarity with SaaS models and engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end IT application development and production running.
• Drive best practices and frameworks for development & operations.
• Ensure alignment with strategic business objectives.
• Create approaches and plans towards the SaaS agenda for the Zurich Edge Platform – key objective of high levels of reuse and optimized delivery.
• Drive speed to market with delivery of initiatives.
• Own the execution of the SaaS agenda
• Convert strategy to action by developing and maintaining a robust technical design and adherence to design during build.
• Drive business focus and urgency within the development teams.
• Ensure technical teams are staying current with emerging and newer technologies.
• Drive implementation of robust engineering and DevOps practices and tools for frequent multi-country deployments.
• Ensure Information security requirements are constantly considered are implemented during design and build.
• Ensure identification and robust implementation of best practices for production monitoring, observability and alerting.

Overall responsibility for IT development for the Zurich Edge Platform to support the growth of Zurich’s digital business across APAC

KEY TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES

Strategic Leadership

• Own the end-to-end IT application development and smooth production running.


• Drive identification and adoption of best practices, tools and frameworks for development & operations


• Ensure design and development are always focused on strategic short term and long-term business objectives.


• Create approaches and plans towards the SaaS agenda for the Zurich Edge Platform – key objective of high levels of reuse and optimized delivery.

Technical Excellence

• Drive speed to market with delivery of initiatives.


• Own the execution of the SaaS agenda


• Convert strategy to action by developing and maintaining a robust technical design and adherence to design during build.


• Drive business focus and urgency within the development teams.


• Ensure technical teams are staying current with emerging and newer technologies.


• Drive implementation of robust engineering and DevOps practices and tools for frequent multi-country deployments.


• Ensure Information security requirements are constantly considered are implemented during design and build.
