Job summary

ADI Resourcing is seeking a Resident Engineer - Systems to support VMware VCF components and hyper-converged infrastructure in a 24/7 environment at Petaling Jaya.

You will perform incident and problem management, apply patches, run RCA reports, and handle small projects. Requires 4–5 years in VMware environments, vCenter/vSphere, and PowerCLI proficiency.

ITIL knowledge and VCP or Veeam certifications are a plus; Diploma or Degree in IT is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
• At least 4-5 years experience in high level support, maintenance and design for Virtual Platforms in VMware environments.
• Minimum 4 years of experience administering VMware vSphere 6 with vCenter.
• Minimum 4 years using PowerCLI for tasks (datastores, snapshots, VM creation, health checks).
• Required skills on VMware VCF components, Veeam, Windows Server OS, Hyper converged Infrastructure, Blade and SAN storage.
• Good knowledge of Enterprise Backup Solutions (Veeam, NetBackup, etc.).
• Knowledge of SAN storage, RAID concepts and disk management tools.
• Networking knowledge with TCP/IP and routing.
• Active Directory knowledge advantageous.
• ITIL framework knowledge or ITIL Foundation beneficial.
• VMware VCP6 and Veeam certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support and troubleshoot VMware VCF components and HCI environments.
• Manage incidents and problems, including major incidents and RCA reporting.
• Provide technical responses and handle escalations for complex issues.
• Perform maintenance tasks, apply patches and upgrade versions.
• Develop continuous improvement plans for the HCIs environment.
• Handle small projects and deployment activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance and support 24/7 operations.
