Job summary

A veterinary healthcare provider in Malaysia is seeking a qualified Pharmacist responsible for dispensing prescriptions and formulating customized medications. You must ensure regulatory compliance and provide consultations regarding medication safety. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor of Pharmacy or PharmD, be fully registered with the Pharmacy Board of Malaysia, and possess excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Qualifications

  • Fully Registered Pharmacist (FRP) with a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
  • Strong command of pharmaceutical calculations and knowledge of REGOVP.
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia required.

Job description
Primary Responsibilities
  • Accurately dispense prescriptions for a diverse range of animal species, ensuring appropriate dosage, frequency, and route of administration.
  • Formulate and prepare customized medications (e.g., flavored oral liquids, transdermal gels) to improve patient compliance and address the lack of commercially available veterinary‑specific strengths.
  • Ensure all inventory carries valid NPRA registration. Maintain meticulous records for controlled substances (Group B and C poisons) as required by Malaysian law.
  • Provide evidence‑based advice to the veterinary team regarding drug‑drug interactions, adverse drug reactions (ADR), and species‑specific toxicities.
  • Deliver professional consultations to pet owners regarding medication administration, storage requirements, and safety precautions.
  • Oversee the procurement of high‑quality pharmaceuticals and maintain the integrity of temperature‑sensitive biologicals and vaccines.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an institution recognized by the Pharmacy Board of Malaysia.
  • Professional Status: Fully Registered Pharmacist (FRP) with a valid, current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong command of pharmaceutical calculations and a working knowledge of the Registration Guideline of Veterinary Products (REGOVP).
  • Communication: Professional fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required; proficiency in additional local dialects is highly regarded.
  • Competencies: Exceptional attention to clinical detail, strong ethical judgment, and a commitment to advancing animal health through pharmaceutical care.
