Job summary

Gateway Search Sdn. Bhd. in Shah Alam is seeking a hands-on Service Technician to perform installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of home appliances at customers’ premises and service centres.

The role requires diagnosing electrical, electronic and mechanical faults, and conducting preventive maintenance to ensure safe, efficient operation. A technical diploma and 1–2 years of relevant experience are preferred, with Bahasa Malaysia and English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate / SKM / Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• At least 1–2 years of experience in home appliance repair or field service is preferred.
• Candidates with strong hands-on technical experience may also be considered without formal qualifications.
• Good knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and the ability to read wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, testing, servicing and repair of home appliances at customers' premises and service centres.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronic and mechanical faults using testing equipment such as multimeters.
• Repair defective appliances and replace faulty components, parts, wiring and electronic components where required.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and routine inspection to ensure appliances operate safely and efficiently.
• Handle service calls and attend scheduled customer appointments within the assigned service area.
• Explain product operation, basic maintenance and proper usage to customers after installation or repair.
• Provide professional customer service and address customers' technical enquiries or concerns.
• Prepare service reports, job completion reports, repair records and other necessary documentation.
• Prepare basic repair quotations for non-warranty cases when required.
• Manage and monitor spare parts, tools and equipment used for service activities.
