Job summary

Applied Materials is seeking a Customer Engineer to join our India-based team. You will work hands-on with cutting-edge semiconductor equipment, performing installation, maintenance, and upgrades, with significant travel in the APAC region.

The role requires an associate degree or equivalent, 2–6 years in field service, and the ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics. You will troubleshoot using digital analytics and support customers directly, with training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or trade cert; field service experience acceptable.
• 2–6 years in customer/field service or related technical field.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving basic technical challenges.
• Mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics.
• Familiarity with hand tools and digital multimeters.
• Good written and verbal communication; MS Office knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers to install, maintain, and upgrade equipment.
• Use digital analytics for troubleshooting.
• Address technical issues under guidance from senior engineers.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment.
• Coordinate with customers and communicate progress.
