This role involves planning and coordinating daily transport loads within consolidated companies' planning processes, ensuring alignment with operational requirements, customer commitments, and approved planning direction. You will match confirmed orders with available trucks and CCC (Car Carrier Captains), optimize fleet and resource utilization, monitor daily transport operations, and manage changes proactively in coordination with the Control Tower.
Key responsibilities
Plan and coordinate daily transport loads within the consolidated companies planning process, ensuring alignment with operational requirements, customer commitments, and approved planning direction.
Match confirmed orders with available trucks and CCC (Car Carrier Captains), ensuring compliance with HOS (Hours of Service), rest-day requirements, vehicle availability, and other operational requirements before assignment.
Optimize fleet and resource utilization by coordinating load balancing, truck allocation, asset sharing, and return-load opportunities with Transport Coordinators.
Monitor daily transport operations and proactively manage changes, including capacity constraints, delays, disruptions, and other operational challenges in coordination with the Control Tower.
Re-plan and reallocate trucks and CCC resources when required, ensuring operational continuity and communicating approved changes promptly to relevant bases, dispatch teams, customers, and stakeholders.
Monitor vehicle availability and operational readiness and coordinate with the Technical Department on planned maintenance, inspections, repairs, and other vehicle requirements.
Monitor vehicle inspection schedules, including PUSPAKOM inspections, and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure inspections are completed within the required timeframe and missed inspection dates are avoided.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date ProACT master data, including customer bookings, truck/load information, CCC assignments, and other relevant operational records.
Monitor CCC compliance with ProACT processes and operational requirements, providing guidance, follow-up, and escalation where necessary.
Monitor fleet utilization, transport performance, and return-load opportunities, identifying opportunities to improve resource utilization and operational efficiency.
Identify operational gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities and recommend practical solutions to enhance planning efficiency, resource utilization, compliance, and service performance.
Prepare and provide timely and accurate operational reports, periodic updates, findings, and analysis to the Superior and Management to support decision-making, performance monitoring, and customer operational reviews.
Proactively identify and escalat operational issues, including resource constraints, compliance concerns, vehicle availability issues, service disruptions, and other matters that may affect transport operations.
Work closely with the HOD, Transport Coordinators, Control Tower, HR, Technical Department, Customer Service, and other relevant departments on operational matters, projects, and assignments to ensure smooth and efficient transport operations.
Support and participate in operational improvement projects and initiatives relating to transport planning, fleet utilization, system processes, compliance, and service performance.
Perform any other duties, projects, tasks, or assignments as assigned by the Superior or the Company from time to time.
Requirements:-
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Relevant professional qualifications or equivalent practical experience will be an added advantage.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in transport planning, fleet operations, logistics, dispatch, or a related transportation environment.
Experience in load planning, truck allocation, fleet utilization, and driver/CCC scheduling is preferred.
Experience working with transport management systems (TMS), fleet management systems, or operational planning systems is preferred.
Technical Skills
Good understanding of transport planning, load optimization, fleet utilization, and resource allocation.
Knowledge of HOS, driver working hours, rest-day requirements, and transportation compliance.
Ability to monitor vehicle availability, maintenance schedules, inspections, and PUSPAKOM requirements.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and able to prepare operational reports and analysis.
Experience with ProACT or similar transport/fleet management systems will be an advantage.
