Job summary

Intuitive in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Manager, Trade Compliance to lead import/export operations for the Penang Plant. You will ensure timely, compliant shipments, oversee licensing warehouse requirements, and manage declarations with brokers while aligning with regulatory mandates and internal controls.

The role requires practical customs knowledge, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in trade processes.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of trade operations, import/export processes, customs clearance, transportation coordination, warehouse controls, and plant support activities.
• Practical knowledge of Malaysian customs and trade compliance requirements, including licensed manufacturing warehouse requirements and permits.
• Experience managing brokers, forwarders, and logistics partners to deliver compliant execution.
• Ability to interpret HS classification, country of origin, Incoterms, and customs valuation.
• Experience developing SOPs, controls, audit processes, and training materials.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day import and export operations for the Penang plant, ensuring timely and compliant shipments.
• Manage logistics activities for the License Manufacturing Warehouse, including documentation and recordkeeping.
• Ensure site compliance with Malaysian customs, permits, and trade regulatory requirements.
• Oversee customs declarations and supporting documentation, including HS classification, origin, and valuation.
• Partner with brokers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders for compliant clearance and delivery.
• Serve as plant SME for trade compliance and guide cross-functional teams on requirements.
• Identify gaps and implement corrective actions, process improvements, and automation opportunities.
• Maintain site metrics and reporting for import/export performance and audits.
• Support new product introductions and supplier changes with logistics compliance.
• Communicate regulatory updates and policy changes to plant leadership and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain plant-level trade compliance procedures and training materials.
