Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Customs and Trade Compliance professional to manage daily LMW operations, license renewals and broker coordination. You will ensure compliant import/export activities and support various trade modes in a dynamic environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or above with 5+ years in customs/compliance, strong English and local language proficiency, and ERP experience (Oracle). You’ll collaborate across teams and may travel for operations alignment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Customs and Trade Compliance in electronics-related industry.
• Mastery in English and local language.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
• Knowledge of trade regulations including LMW, SST Act and STA Act.

Responsibilities

• Manage day to day LMW Customs operation with team including GPB application, follow up, Exemption list and License renewal and maintenance.
• Oversee import/export shipments in adherence to trade regulations and coordinate with brokers for efficient customer declarations.
• Support hand carry, temporary import, ATA Carnet and other trade modes to ensure compliance.
• Provide expertise on product valuation, commercial invoices, incoterms and local Customs requirements.
• Support export compliance processes including order screening and release using automated tools.
• Interact with local customs/MITI authorities, support audits and maintain compliance with NI’s ethics policies.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Manage day to day LMW Customs operation with team including GPB application, following up, Exemption list and License (LMW, VAA) renewal and maintenance, ensures timely customs reports submission.

Oversee the facilitation of import/export shipments in adherence to trade regulations. Independently coordinate with brokers to ensure efficient customer declaration operations.

Support special trade modes such as hand carry, temporary import, ATA Carnet and so on to ensure compliance with all applicable trade compliance regulations, including local trade regulations pertaining to import and export, anti-bribery regulations, as well as NI’s code of ethics policies

Knowledge of the key trade elements, such as product valuation, commercial invoice setups, incoterms, and local Customs requirements. Providing expertise to answer questions from internal collaborators, suppliers, customers, and others.

Support the export compliance and STA process based on the STA Act and other applicable regulations, include the order screening, hold review and release by using the automatic export screening tool

Manage the interaction with local customs/MITI authorities and other applicable governmental agencies and officials on behalf of NI Successfully, handle the external/internal audit once required

Resolves challenging problems and drives central initiatives proactively to improve operational processes and minimize potential risks.

Build and implement training programs to ensure collaborators, customers, partners, and team members have the necessary compliance knowledge and regularly updated.

Coach junior team members to drive the high performance of team

For This Role, You Will Need:

Bachelor’s degree or above

5+years of experience in a Customs and Trade Compliance in electronic related industry.

Mastery in English and local language

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Vast knowledge in Trade regulations including Customs Act 1967 regulations, Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW) & SST Act, STA Act and so on

Value added activity knowledge such as repair, service, calibration, subcontracting, IPC, RDC would be a preference.

Working experience of using ERP system such as Oracle system

Strong communication and multi-tasking skills

Good analysis and problem-solving skills

Willingness to travel and work with partners across time zone for operations alignment and drive improvement plan.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office skills (Adv Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Exposure to Data Analytics and Reporting tools (Power BI and Etc) will be an added advantage.
