Job summary

ICHOR Systems Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Tool Crib Engineer to manage and optimize a manufacturing facility’s tooling inventory, ensuring production lines have the right equipment to minimize downtime while controlling costs. The role blends engineering and logistics across tooling design, procurement, inventory control, and technical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities include implementing standardized tooling, conducting root-cause analysis, and supporting NPI efforts across manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 7–10+ years of tooling development, machining, or precision engineering.
• 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Strong background in CNC machining (3-5 axis), precision weldment, jig/fixture design.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM tools (SolidWorks, NX, Mastercam, AutoCAD).
• Experience with FAI/PPAP/SPC and capability studies.

Responsibilities

• Inventory management: track, stock, and issue tooling and consumables using Crib Management Software.
• Tooling optimization & design: analyze tools, standardize cutter lists, design custom tooling solutions.
• Quality assurance: inspect returned tools, decide reground/refurbish/scrap.
• Vendor & budget management: source tooling, negotiate prices, track tooling expenses.
• Troubleshooting: root-cause analysis on tooling failures and bottlenecks.
• NPI support: audit and prep for new product introduction across manufacturing.
