Job summary

PT WIK Far East Batam is seeking a hands-on Tooling Engineer to oversee design, development, and implementation of tooling and fixtures. You will lead a team of tooling engineers, technicians, and toolmakers, collaborating with production and engineering to meet quality and safety standards.

This role requires a Diploma or higher in tooling or mechanical engineering with at least three years of relevant experience, strong CAD/3D skills, and proven ability to manage budgets and drive continuous

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in tool and die industries or mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the same position.
• Hands-on with CAD/3D modelling software.
• Knowledge of workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
• Good English communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design, development, and implementation of new tooling and fixtures and lead and supervise a team of tooling engineers, tooling technicians, toolmakers, and others relevant personnel.
• Provide training and development opportunities.
• Coordinate with management, production, engineering, and suppliers to ensure tooling needs are met.
• Ensure tooling meets quality standards, specifications, and safety regulations.
• Implement and monitor tooling performance metrics to drive continuous improvements.
• Manage budgets and inventory of tooling, materials, and maintenance resources.
• Maintain tooling uptime to minimize impact on customers.
• Lead root causes analysis and corrective actions for tooling related issues.
