Job summary

Combi-Pack Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Tooling Leader to architect and drive the tooling strategy across design, manufacturing, and maintenance. You will manage cross‑functional teams to deliver robust production tooling and improve reliability.

The role requires 7–10 years in tooling/manufacturing with hands‑on experience in molds, dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and CAD/CAM. Strong leadership, budget control, and supplier management are essential.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of relevant tooling/manufacturing experience with leadership.
• Strong experience in tooling design, development, manufacturing, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with molds, dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, or other production tooling.
• Proven experience managing tooling projects, budgets, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining, grinding, heat treatment, and tool materials where applicable.
• Experience with CAD/CAM and engineering software.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or structured problem-solving methodologies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the tooling strategy aligned with business goals.
• Lead tooling engineering, design, manufacturing, maintenance and tech teams.
• Establish tooling standards, specifications, processes and best practices.
• Develop budgets, manpower plans, equipment needs, and investment proposals.
• Drive DFM, DFA and maintenance focused design reviews and approvals.
• Oversee tool design, development, and production tooling reviews.
• Manage external tooling suppliers and monitor KPIs and risks.
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance to improve tool life and uptime.
• Identify cost and productivity improvements through tooling optimization.
