Job summary

PT WIK Far East Batam is seeking a hands-on Tooling Engineer to oversee design, development, and implementation of tooling and fixtures. You will lead a team of tooling engineers, technicians, and toolmakers, collaborating with production and engineering to meet quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design, development, and implementation of new tooling and fixtures and lead and supervise a team of tooling engineers, tooling technicians, toolmakers, and others relevant personnel.
• Provide training and development opportunities.
• Coordinate with management, production, engineering, and suppliers to ensure tooling needs are met.
• Ensure tooling meets quality standards, specifications, and safety regulations.
• Implement and monitor tooling performance metrics to drive continuous improvements.
• Manage budgets and inventory of tooling, materials, and maintenance resources.
• Maintain tooling uptime to minimize impact on customers.
• Lead root causes analysis and corrective actions for tooling related issues.

Job description

Oversee all aspects of tooling operations, including maintenance, repair, procurement, and implementation of new and existing tooling. Also maintain customer specifications as well as cost efficiency. They lead of Tooling Engineers and Toolmakers, collaborate with production and engineering, and ensure tooling meets quality standards and safety regulations.

Responsibility:

Manage the design, development, and implementation of new tooling and fixtures and lead and supervise a team of tooling engineers, tooling technicians, toolmakers, and others relevant personnel. Provide training and development opportunities.

Coordinate with management, production, engineering, and suppliers to ensure tooling needs are met. Ensure all tooling meets quality standards, specifications, and safety regulations.

Implement and monitor tooling performance metrics to drive continuous improvements. Manage budgets and inventory of tooling, materials, and maintenance resources.

Maintain tooling uptime to minimize impact on customers. Lead root causes analysis and corrective actions for tooling related issues and active role on internal continuous improvement teams. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements:

Diploma and above in tool and die industries and mechanical engineering and minimum 3 years’ experience in the same position.

Must be hand-on experiences, familiar with CAD/3D modelling software, deep understanding of plastic mold design and construction.

Knowledge of workplace safety, regulatory compliance and proper handling of tools and machinery.

Solid skill for Microsoft office and good attitude, adaptability to company culture, teamwork spirit and influence skills, problem solving skills, able to handle multi-task and seek continuous improvement, active listening, presentation skills, good in English and work location in Batam - Indonesia.
