Job summary

Carsem (M) Sdn. Bhd. in Ipoh, Malaysia seeks a tooling engineer to provide technical guidance and support to technicians on trim and form tooling activities to ensure high tool performance, product quality and production uptime.

The role coordinates tooling tasks, maintains tooling, performs preventive maintenance and develops 3D models using design software to support tooling modifications and continuous improvement in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Mechatronic Engineering, or related field.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Self-motivated, proactive in fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and support to technicians on trim and form tooling activities.
• Coordinate and monitor tooling tasks to ensure timely completion.
• Maintain trim and form tooling and support volume product expansion.
• Perform preventive maintenance, tool life control, and troubleshooting.
• Support daily production line activities to minimize downtime.
• Develop 3D models to support tooling modifications and engineering requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Read electrical circuit diagrams and PLC ladder diagrams.
• Knowledge of automatic equipment electrical components.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and 3D design software.
