Job summary

Mattel Development and Tooling Sdn Bhd is seeking a Mold Designer to design molds, create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings, and prepare BOMs using MS Office. The role involves ensuring accuracy, timely delivery, and addressing customer questions about designs.

Required are a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field, 1–2 years’ experience, and basic skills in PowerShape, PowerMill, and MS Office. The position focuses on quality and process improvement within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Advanced/Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic or Tool & Die.
• 1–2 years of related field experience preferred.

• Respond to and resolve production-enquiry issues in house.

Job description

Assist by Leader to guide to perform Mold design, responsible to designing mold and creating 3D CAD Model and 2D Engineering Drawings. Prepare mould component drawing and assembly drawings. As a Mold Designer, responsible for creating bills of materials for each job using Microsoft Office Software and also answering questions from customers as well as other employees regarding designs. Ensure all work is performed accurately, efficiently, and on time to schedule. Check and confirm the own outputs to ensure that the mold/tools have the appropriate parting and cutting lines for the next process of mold/tool making.

Key responsibilities

Meet Mold Design Schedule >90% with customer focused quality bought off system

Update performance indicators at own functions

Introduce and update knowledge management at DMD

Maintain 5S, ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and fire department certification

Comply with all safety requirements

Create and enhance program strategy improvement for CNC output

Work towards cost reduction without sacrificing quality

Work towards cleanliness, housekeeping and total productive maintenance

Actively involved in BTB activities

Respond and find solution for enquiry and problems occur in production in house
