Job summary

Agensi Pekerjaan Minde Group Sdn Bhd is recruiting a Tool Design Engineer in Johor Bahru to design molds and develop 3D CAD models and detailed drawings for plastic injection tooling. You will ensure tooling concepts meet manufacturing, quality, and cost targets, and support transition from design to fabrication and production trials.

The ideal candidate holds a Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or related field, with at least 5 years in mold design, and proficiency in UG NX and Top Solid.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing Tool, Tool & Die, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in plastic injection mold design.
• Proficient in UG NX and Top Solid software.

Responsibilities

• Design molds and develop accurate 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings.
• Develop complete plastic injection mold designs, including mold concepts and layouts.
• Prepare mold specifications, design checklists, and technical documentation
• Prepare detailed mold component and assembly drawings.
• Support product and tooling development, including molding process considerations.
• Ensure smooth transition from design to tooling fabrication, testing, and production trial runs.
• Identify and resolve design and technical issues in a timely manner.
• Verify tooling, programs, and design data for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure all design activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and within project timelines.
• Conduct and participate in DFM and tool design concept discussions with customers.
• Select appropriate steel materials to ensure tooling durability and service life.
• Prepare Purchase Requisitions for mold bases, components, and steel materials.
• Supervise shop-floor personnel and maintain discipline related to tooling activities.
