Job summary

AMD in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking an experienced engineer to lead thermal, mechanical and board-assembly development from requirements through qualification, manufacturing release and ramp. You will coordinate package, board and chassis interfaces and travel regionally to supplier sites to ensure schedules are met.

You are an individual contributor who can drive decisions across global engineering, manufacturing and supplier teams with strong communication to engineers and executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Manufacturing, Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Experience leading thermal/mechanical hardware programs.
• Experience with electronics packaging and large SMT/BGA assembly advantageous.
• Ability to manage cross-functional teams and suppliers.
• Strong communication with engineers and executives.

Responsibilities

• Define program scope, milestones, owners and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate package, board and chassis interfaces and assess design changes.
• Lead reviews with cooling suppliers, CMs, ODMs and OSATs.
• Plan engineering and validation builds and exit decisions.
• Coordinate advanced SMT and large BGA assembly processes.
• Manage risks, issues, dependencies and changes with recovery options.
• Drive DFM/DFA, release docs, manufacturing handover and lessons learned.
