Job summary

Micron in Penang is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on tester equipment and supporting systems.

You will diagnose equipment issues, calibrate and verify performance, and collaborate with engineers and operations teams to improve reliability and uptime. A Diploma in engineering and strong troubleshooting skills are essential, with focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechatronics or related technical discipline.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and automated equipment systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings, equipment documentation, and maintenance procedures.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) activities according to schedules and procedures.
• Complete corrective maintenance and troubleshoot tester hardware and equipment failures.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and system issues to restore operation.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify reliability and uptime improvements.
• Support installation, qualification, upgrades, and validation activities.
• Analyze logs and alarms to determine root causes of failures.
• Calibrate and verify equipment as required.
• Collaborate with engineers, vendors, and manufacturing teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain maintenance records, documentation, and repair history.
• Support spare parts management and inventory control.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives leveraging AI.
• Ensure safety, quality, and operational standards during maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical disciplines!
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills!
• Knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and automated equipment systems.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, equipment documentation, and maintenance procedures.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing or automated production environments.
• Hands‑on experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Familiarity with industrial control systems, sensors, actuators, and automation equipment.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies and reliability improvement techniques.
• Experience analyzing equipment logs and performance data.
• Basic programming, scripting, or automation knowledge is an advantage.
