Job summary

Sulzer, a leading engineering company, is seeking an entry-level (Field) Service Technician to install, configure, calibrate, and repair technical products at customer sites in Malaysia. You will follow detailed procedures under supervision and engage in limited non-routine tasks as you grow your expertise.

Responsibilities include maintenance, troubleshooting, basic training for customers, and assisting in upgrades, with a standard Monday to Friday workweek and collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Basic vocational training or equivalent work experience.
• Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude required.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.

About the role

Job Summary

The (Field) Service Technician is responsible for installing, configuring, calibrating, and repairing technical products and systems at customer field locations. This job profile is intended for entry-level support staff who follow specific instructions and procedures, with supervision provided for non-routine situations. This job and its associated grade are specifically aligned with roles that have the following scope of responsibility: Small, Medium, Large, Division / Extra Large organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and technical support on installed equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic malfunctions.
• Assist in upgrades and replacements.
• Provide basic training to customer personnel.
• Follow detailed procedures and safety guidelines.

Skills & Qualifications

• May require basic vocational training (or equivalent work experience) and the ability to carry out assigned tasks after initial instruction or demonstration.
• Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under supervision.

Standard Workweek: Monday to Friday

Flexible Working Hours: 8.00a.m to 5p.m or 8.30a.m to 5.30p.m
