Boustead Estates Agency Sdn Bhd is seeking a Digital Transformation Specialist to evaluate and implement digital solutions across operations in Malaysia. You will liaise with vendors, coordinate with internal stakeholders, and assist in budgeting for technology projects.
The role requires driving digital workflows, SOPs, and dashboards such as Power BI across estates and mills. The position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, strong communication skills, and travel to plantation
Keep abreast of emerging technologies and evaluate suitable digital solutions that can be adopted to improve the Company's operations and business processes.
Liaise and coordinate with vendors, consultants and internal stakeholders to implement technology solutions and digitalization projects.
Assist in planning, monitoring and managing digitalization project budgets, ensuring cost-effective implementation of new technologies.
Support the Management in executing the department's strategic initiatives, projects and operational objectives.
Implement digital transformation initiatives by collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify, redesign and transition manual or traditional processes into digital workflows.
Promote and champion the adoption of digital technologies and best practices to foster a digital mindset across the organization.
Assist in the design, development, evaluation, research and recommendation of technology solutions, including networking infrastructure, IoT, software, hardware and digital platforms.
Develop, review and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), technical guidelines and documentation related to digital and technology implementations.
Prepare, maintain and update project documentation, including project plans, technical reports, implementation records and progress status updates.
Manage and maintain deployed technology systems and infrastructure, including network, IoT devices, CCTV systems, dashboards and related digital platforms, while providing technical support and troubleshooting when required.
Perform administrative and documentation tasks related to technology projects, including asset records, procurement documentation, reporting and compliance requirements.
Requirements:-
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Networking, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Internet of Things (IoT), Process Engineering or other related disciplines.
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in networking, IoT, software development, digitalisation projects, system implementation or related technical projects. Internships, freelance work, final year projects, hobby projects and research projects in the field will also be considered.
Basic to intermediate knowledge of networking technologies, including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, VLAN, PoE, routers, switches and wireless access points.
Basic knowledge of IoT technologies, including sensors, gateways and industrial communication protocols such as RS423/485, Modbus and MQTT.
Basic understanding of software and application development, databases, dashboards and automation or workflow tools.
Basic knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, including electrical safety practices, control panels, power distribution, grounding, surge protection and relevant electrical standards.
Able to install, configure and troubleshoot network infrastructure, IoT devices, hardware and software systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders and vendors.
Proficient in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a creative mindset in developing digital solutions to improve operational efficiency.
Passionate about technology, innovation and digital transformation.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision, while maintaining good teamwork and stakeholder management skills.
Adaptable, proactive and willing to learn new technologies.
Able to multitask and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Willing and able to travel frequently to estates and mills throughout Malaysia, including remote plantation locations.
Willing to conduct site visits, installation supervision, testing, commissioning and technical support activities.
Basic knowledge of CCTV, surveillance systems, NVR/VMS and remote monitoring platforms is an added advantage.
Experience with dashboard platforms such as Power BI, Grafana, Node-RED or similar tools is an added advantage.
Knowledge of cloud platforms, virtualisation or Linux environments is an added advantage.
Experience in plantation technology or operational technology (OT) environments, covering computer and network systems, IoT, hardware design, AI or electrical and electronics control systems, is an added advantage.
Experience working in outdoor, industrial or plantation environments is an added advantage.
Interest in plantation technology, smart agriculture and Industry 4.0 initiatives is an added advantage.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
