Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a field technician in Penang, Malaysia to maintain security systems.

You will perform preventive maintenance, inspect access control, CCTV, and related components, conduct health checks, and ensure PM reports are completed on time. You will diagnose hardware, software, and network issues, handle service calls, support the customer security operations team, and document all activities.

Qualifications

• Diploma in electrical & electronics or related field.
• 1–2 years in Security Systems maintenance and support.
• Experience supporting Access Control and CCTV systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and customer management skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Good report writing and documentation skills.
• Team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities according to contract requirements.
• Inspect, test, and verify proper operation of security systems.
• Conduct health checks on access control, CCTV, video management, door controllers, card readers, power supplies, and related switches.
• Ensure PM reports are completed accurately and submitted on time.
• Attend service calls and troubleshoot system faults.
• Diagnose hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Rectify system failures within contractual response times.
• Escalate complex issues to higher-level engineers or OEM support as required.
• Replace defective components and verify system restoration.
• Provide day-to-day support to the customer\'s security operations team.
• Support user access requests, cardholder management, and system administration tasks.
• Prepare and submit service reports and preventive maintenance reports.
