Job summary

Perbadanan Bekalan Air Pulau Pinang Sdn Bhd (PBAPP) is seeking a Technician in the GIS section to generate ARCGIS maps for internal and external customers within tight timelines.

The role updates as-built drawings in GIS, maintains asset references, prepares GIS plans for consultants and developers, and carries out GPS surveys, with opportunities for fresh graduates.

Qualifications

• Diploma in GIS / Geomatic / Town Planner / Built Environment and approved by Malaysian Government.
• Experience in related GIS and mapping field would be an added advantage.
• Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Possess supervisory, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Positive attitude, highly initiative and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Possess ability to work under pressure, tight schedules and in stringent environment.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Generate GIS maps using ARCGIS for internal and external customers within timeline.
• As-built drawings are updated as accurately, correctly and timely in the GIS system.
• Updating of assets data under 1 Geo-reference for customer points must be done accurately and timely
• GIS plans are prepared timely for comment plans under One Stop Centre planning approvals
• Updating of asset reference of PBAPP assets into GIS system for fast reference
• Prepare GIS plans for consultants, developers and plumbers for design planning and mains connection within timeline
• Update the existing GIS data model with monthly updates from as-built drawing
• Conduct GPS survey on any assets as instructed and integrate surveyed data to GIS system
• Assist in water catchment inspection monthly or adhoc visits when necessary

Positions offered is contract for one ( 1 ) year prior to the absorption into permanent posts and subject to job performance.
