Job summary

JCY HDD Technology Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a production technician to support equipment setup, changeovers and installation readiness for production lines. You will perform readings, checks and upkeep to ensure readiness and quality from start to finish.

The role focuses on learning and applying SOPs, basic troubleshooting of mechanical/electrical systems, and adherence to 6S and safety rules. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply and join a growing HDD component manufacturer.

Qualifications

• Eligible with Technical Certificate or Diploma in mechanical/manufacturing/electrical/mechatronics/industrial engineering.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components.
• Able to perform machine setup, parameter checks, and simple recovery actions.
• Familiar with measurement tools (gauge, caliper, microscope) and basic SPC recording.
• Able to read and follow Work Instructions, PM checklists, and startup procedures.
• Fresh graduates/entry level applicants are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment setup, changeover, and installation support.
• Operate machines according to SOPs and recover minor stoppages, alarms, and simple faults.
• Conduct daily equipment safety checks, verify guarding / interlocks, ensure operating environment is safe and ready for production.
• Carry out routine PM tasks (lubrication, cleaning, filter replacement, consumables checks) and update logs.
• Perform first article checks and ensure outputs meet quality standards, update sheets and report deviations.
• Monitor abnormal sounds, vibrations, temperature drift, slow cycle times, or irregular machine behavior and report.
• Support Engineering Operators and elevate issues to Senior Technicians/Engineers for investigation.
• Maintain machine/workstation cleanliness, follow EHS procedures, and adhere to 6S practices.
• Update PM logs, changeover records, sample measurement sheets, and daily checklists clearly.

Job description

1. Perform equipment setup, changeover, and installation support. Verify machine parameters, fixtures, tools, and startup conditions to ensure readiness for production.

2. Operate machines according to SOPs and recover minor stoppages, alarms, and simple faults. Perform quick checks (sensors, clamps, alignment) and elevate more complex issues to Senior Technicians / Engineers.

3. Conduct daily equipment safety checks, verify guarding / interlocks, ensure operating environment is safe, and confirm the machine is functioning properly before production.

4. Carry out routine PM tasks such as lubrication, cleaning, filter replacement, consumable checks, and visual inspection. Maintain PM check sheets and inform Senior Technician if abnormalities are found.

5. Perform first article checks, measurement sampling, visual inspection, and ensure machine outputs meet quality standards. Update check sheets and report quality deviations immediately.

6. Monitor abnormal sounds, unusual vibrations, temperature drift, slow cycle time, or irregular machine behavior. Report abnormalities promptly.

7. Support Engineering Operators, assist in changeovers, and elevate abnormalities or recurring issues to Senior Technicians / Engineers for further investigation.

8. Maintain machine and workstation cleanliness, follow EHS procedures, handle chemicals safely, and ensure strong adherence to 6S practices.

9. Update PM logs, changeover records, sample measurement sheets, and daily checklist forms clearly and accurately.

Requirements:

Candidate must possess at least Technical Certificate, Diploma in Mechanical / Manufacturing / Electrical / Mechatronics / Industrial Engineering or related field
