Job summary

Swan Garden Resort Hotel in Melaka is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.

You will troubleshoot electrical, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, doors, and furniture issues; respond to guest maintenance requests promptly; monitor hotel equipment; coordinate with contractors; and maintain safety and record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Air-Conditioning, or related field.
• Minimum 1-3 years experience in hotel maintenance or building facilities maintenance.
• Knowledge in HVAC systems.
• Electrical troubleshooting.
• Preventive maintenance.
• Hospitality experience preferred.
• Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Respond quickly to operational issues and guest complaints.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance for guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
• Troubleshoot and repair issues related to electrical systems, air-conditioning systems, plumbing and sanitary systems, lighting and power supply, doors, locks, and furniture.
• Attend and resolve guest maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Monitor the operation of hotel equipment including pumps, generators, water heaters, and ventilation systems.
• Carry out corrective maintenance and minimize equipment downtime.
• Support room maintenance during daily operations and room turnaround.
• Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers for specialized repair works.
• Ensure all engineering works comply with safety regulations and hotel standards.
• Maintain proper maintenance records, checklists, and service reports.
• Assist during emergencies including power failure, flooding, or equipment breakdown.
• Ensure tools, workshop, and maintenance areas are kept clean and organized.
• Support energy-saving and cost-control initiatives by monitoring utilities usage.
