Job summary

Nokia Solutions and Networks Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced NPI Engineer to drive end‑to‑end New Product Introduction for next‑gen network technologies. You’ll design configurations, manage lab test‑beds, and run live demonstrations and acceptance testing with customers.

You’ll partner with cross‑functional teams to resolve issues, optimize NPI workflows, and ensure successful deployments in customer projects while maintaining lab readiness and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent.
• 1–7 years of experience in NPI or related field.
• Experience with access network technologies (FTTH, GPON, P2P) and OSS is a plus.
• Knowledge of network forwarding and routing (CCNA or equivalent) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute all aspects of New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring customer validation and acceptance.
• Conduct product demonstrations and proof‑of‑concept trials and perform acceptance tests in labs and customer environments.
• Facilitate workshops and fault analysis to resolve NPI issues.
• Own technical solutions and ensure successful implementation within customer projects.
• Oversee lab environment management, equipment maintenance, resource scheduling and test‑bed setup for NPI verification, PoC and demos.

Job description

As a New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer at Nokia, you'll play a crucial role in driving the successful launch of cutting‑edge network technologies. Collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams, you'll manage the end‑to‑end NPI process, from designing innovative network configurations, operating and maintaining lab infrastructure & test‑beds, to executing live product demonstrations and acceptance testing with customers. • Lead and execute all aspects of New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring customer validation and acceptance. This includes developing and designing network configurations tailored to specific customer requirements
• Conduct engaging product demonstrations and proof‑of‑concept trials to showcase new solutions, as well as executing comprehensive acceptance tests in both Nokia labs and customer environments.
• Facilitate workshops and perform fault analysis to resolve issues during NPI activities.
• Take ownership of technical solutions, ensuring successful implementation within customer projects, and utilize specialist knowledge to tackle complex network design and configuration challenges.
• Oversee lab environment daily management, equipment maintenance, resource scheduling and test‑bed setup to support NPI verification, PoC and customer demo activities.
  

Must Have Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent, with a range of 1 to 7 years' experience
• High motivation to work with access network technologies and products, and technical work experience in FTTH, GPON, P2P, OSS
• Knowledge of network forwarding and routing (NRS1, CCNA, or equivalent) and experience with containerized platforms (Docker, Kubernetes) and Python or equivalent
• Familiarity with Fixed Access Network (xPON) design principles (intent‑based networking).
• Strong troubleshooting experience with real‑world deployment issues (system‑level, underlay/overlay, multi‑vendor).
• Experience with automation and management platforms (YANG, REST, gNMI, Ansible, Python, API, YAML).
• Experienced with public cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS and Azure
• Working knowledge of cloud‑native technologies: Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift,

• Hands‑on experience on lab infrastructure management & maintenance, including test‑bed deployment, lab resource planning, hardware asset management, and maintaining lab readiness for NPI, PoC and customer demonstration.

Nice to have Skills

• Familiarity with Testing, Debugging and Quality Engineering principles.
• Good understanding on security tools and testing.
• Good understanding of Software Architecture / Design.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Exposure to Telecommunication and Networking technologies.
• Understanding of web services, API, REST, RPC, and experience with Ansible or Python scripting
