Job summary

FAR Capital group in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Product Owner to translate business needs into actionable software requirements for multiple live products. You will own the backlog, prioritize across stakeholders, and drive sprint planning, UAT, and release readiness with a cross-functional team.

The role requires 3–5 years in product management, strong Agile/Scrum understanding, and excellent communication to align business and technical audiences. Finance/real estate exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in product management or product ownership.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
• Able to explain complex ideas in simple terms for business and technical audiences.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Experience with product management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Linear.
• Working understanding of software development processes, including testing and release.
• Comfortable using AI tools to improve personal and team productivity.
• Experience in finance or real estate is a plus.
• Knowledge of UX design principles is a plus.
• Working understanding of data analysis and product metrics.
• Team player, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the product backlog across all owned products, ensuring it is prioritized and aligned with business goals.
• Make prioritization and trade-off decisions, and own the reasoning behind them.
• Analyze user feedback, product metrics, and market trends to inform product decisions.
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements, and break complex ideas into simple, actionable solutions the team can build.
• Write clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria, including edge cases, so developers can build without repeated clarification.
• Collaborate with development teams to plan sprints, effort, deployment, and release readiness.
• Coordinate with product designers to create mockups and prototypes.
• Facilitate sprint planning, review, and retrospective meetings.
• Lead UAT: define test scenarios, coordinate stakeholder sign-off, and manage feedback into fixes and improvements before release.
• Act as the primary point of contact between the development team and stakeholders.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project status regularly.
• Keep Azure DevOps current as the single source of truth for backlog, sprint status, and UAT.
• Facilitate postmortems and RCA for production incidents, and follow through on corrective actions.
• Maintain product documentation across the products owned.
• Use AI tools to automate routine work such as story drafting, status updates, meeting notes, and backlog preparation.
• Team support: Guide and review the work of the Junior Product Owner.
