Job summary

DayOne is seeking an accomplished Network Architect to lead design and implementation of enterprise-grade data center networks. You will shape global network strategies, architect LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructure, and supervise major rollout projects.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in network engineering, hands-on experience with Cisco/H3C/Aruba hardware, Fortinet or Palo Alto firewalls, and SD-WAN platforms. Strong troubleshooting and project leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in network engineering, implementation, and operations.
• Strong hands-on experience in enterprise and/or data center network environments.
• Experience in global enterprise, large-scale environments, or consulting firms is an advantage.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Experience in network design, planning, and project implementation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and document network topologies (LAN, WAN, WLAN, Data Center).
• Harden network perimeters with redundant firewall clusters and robust identity management.
• Plan systems for optimal traffic routing, bandwidth allocation, and fault tolerance.
• Coordinate with telecom providers, third-party services, and hardware vendors for circuit delivery and procurement.
• Oversee the lifecycle of network rollouts from design and budgeting to deployment and post-implementation review.
• Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex outages and performance issues.
• Design robust Wi‑Fi networks (Wi‑Fi 6/6E/7) using centralized controllers and cloud platforms.
• Create and maintain comprehensive design diagrams, as-built drawings, and templates.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Architecture: Conceptualize and document network topologies (LAN, WAN, WLAN, and Data Center), selecting appropriate hardware and software solutions.
• Security & Compliance Architecture: Harden network perimeters by designing redundant firewall clusters, robust identity management (802.1X/TACACS+), and zoning strategies.
• Performance Optimization: Plan systems for optimal traffic routing, bandwidth allocation, and fault tolerance.
• Vendor & Carrier Coordination: Work with telecom providers, third-party managed services, and hardware vendors for circuit delivery and infrastructure procurement.
• Project Management: Oversee the lifecycle of network rollouts, from initial design and budgeting to deployment and post-implementation review.
• Tier 3 Escalation: Act as the ultimate escalation point for complex network outages, routing loops, and critical performance degradation.
• Wireless Architecture Design: Design robust Wi‑Fi networks (Wi‑Fi 6/6E/7) utilizing centralized Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs), cloud‑managed platforms, and virtual controllers.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive design diagrams, as‑built drawings, and configuration templates.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in network engineering, implementation, and operations.
• Strong hands‑on experience in enterprise and/or data center network environments.
• Experience in global enterprise, large‑scale environments, or consulting firms (e.g., Big4) is an advantage.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Experience in network design, planning, and project implementation is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Protocols & Tech: In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VXLAN, EVPN, and VPNs.
• Enterprise Hardware: Hands‑on experience with routing/switching (e.g., Cisco, H3C, Aruba) and next‑generation firewalls (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point).
• SD‑WAN Platforms: Deep expertise in systems like Cisco Catalyst SD‑WAN (Viptela), VeloCloud, Fortinet, or Aruba SDWAN.
• Wireless Security & Authentication: Implement and maintain secure wireless access methods, including WPA3-Enterprise, 802.1X authentication, RADIUS servers, and Guest Portals.
• Core Networking Integration: Strong grasp of foundational network concepts like VLANs, DHCP, 802.1q trunking, PoE (Power over Ethernet) budgets, and basic routing.

Devices & Platforms

• Hands‑on experience with Cisco, H3C, Aruba, and other mainstream vendors.
• Familiar with routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless solutions.

Security

• Experience with Fortinet firewalls, WAF, NAC (ISE/FAC), and network security controls.
• Understanding of network security best practices and monitoring.

Tools & Automation

• Experience with monitoring tools (Zabbix, Grafana, ELK).
• Familiar with IPAM, configuration backup, and automation/orchestration tools.

Certifications (Preferred)

• Industry‑standard credentials such as CCNP/CCIE (Cisco) or Network/Security Cloud Certifications are highly preferred.
