Job summary

Michael Page seeks a Technical Leader for a specialized sealing products manufacturer in Malaysia. You will define the technical roadmap and manufacturing capabilities, acting as the highest technical authority for products, materials and processes to support and guide complex production and customer issues.

Responsibilities include leading technology transfer and industrialization efforts for new products, evaluating processes for optimal molding methods, and driving continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or materials engineering.
• 5–10 years of significant experience in a rubber environment.
• Knowledge on rubber production and sealing applications.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills.
• Project management experience.
• CAD/AutoCAD experience.
• Knowledge of IT-tools (MS Office, Sales tools).

Job Description

Technical Leadership & Strategy

• Define the company's technical roadmap and manufacturing capabilities.


• Act as the highest technical authority for products, materials and manufacturing processes.


• Lead technical decision-making for complex production and customer issues.


• Drive continuous improvement of technical standards and manufacturing excellence. Product, Materials & Customer Applications


• Review customer applications and recommend appropriate sealing solutions.


• Define material selection (including material surface coating) and support compound development.


• Lead technical discussions with customers on new applications.


• Support RFQs by validating technical feasibility and manufacturing approach.

Manufacturing Technology & Industrialization

• Define the optimal manufacturing process (compression, transfer, injection molding, etc.) for new products.


• Lead the introduction of new production technologies, equipment and manufacturing methods (recommend best technology, support in machine installation and setup).


• Develop process standards and ensure successful industrialization of new products.


• Ensure effective technology transfer from equipment suppliers and Group experts to the local organization.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or materials engineering or equivalent


• 5 to 10 years of significant experience in a rubber environment


• Knowledge on rubber production


• Knowledge on sealing applications


• Strong technical problem-solving skills


• Project Management experience


• CAD/ Autocad experience


• Knowledge of IT-Tools (MS Office, Sales Tools)


• Relocate to work in Vietnam
