Job summary

Lam Soon is seeking a Technical Support lead for Machinery, Utility & Facility in Selangor. You will drive maintenance projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure timely completion within budget while supporting continuous improvement and cost reduction.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting urgent issues, monitoring equipment, and implementing process improvements with a strong focus on safety and ISO/GMP/HACCP compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Industrial/Mechanical) or equivalent.
• Strong integrity and personal work standards; cross-cultural negotiation skills.
• Proactive self-starter capable of managing multiple projects/priorities.
• Experience with ISO, HALAL, HACCP, DOSH and BOMBA rules and audits.
• Out-of-the-box thinker who drives dynamism and new ideas.
• Excellent planning and project management skills; strong technical know-how.

Job description

Lam Soon – Telok Panglima Garang, Selangor

Technical Support in Machinery, Utility & Facility

Manage and review the modification and improvement projects, as well as plan and coordinate all maintenance activities in the operations to lead the engineering projects with cross functional teams to ensure timely project completion within budget and meeting expectations.

Responsible for the immediate troubleshooting of urgent technical issues.

Monitor equipment performance and identify potential issues before they lead to failures

Identify and study opportunities for equipment & process improvement by taking an active role in plant improvement and providing technical support as well as troubleshooting for sites.

Assesses cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes; makes and implements recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

Act as a continuous improvement champion for the company including troubleshooting, failure analysis and efficiency improvement.

Prepare and implement budget for technical operations in order to achieve set objectives.

Support the procurement, inventory and distribution of spare parts to ensure timely availability and minimize downtime, to maintain accurate records of spare parts inventory and transactions.

2. Operations Improvement

Day to day operational support of the manufacturing production floor by providing leadership guidance.

Collaborate with operation teams to ensure maintenance procedures are aligned with operational needs.

Manage manufacturing operation with overall responsibilities for maintaining quality and other plant related activities.

Regularly coordinate and summarize the outstanding issues that need to be improved and carry out improvement activities within the scope.

Monitor on-going production processes, to analyze unexpected slowdowns and proactively identify new bottlenecks.

Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvements.

Work closely with internal team to resolve operation issues, mitigate delivery and schedule problems and expedite closure of material shortages.

3. People Management

Ensure subordinates carry out the job in a timely and comprehensive manner.

Track competencies of subordinates and provide leadership and development as required to achieve the objectives.

Maintain staffs and workers by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees.

Maintains staffs and workers’ job results by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees.

Hold meeting as and when required for training, discussion to improve overall productivity and quality.

4. Safety and System Compliance

To make sure all production personnel to follow SOP / practice establish from ISO 9001/14001, GMP, HACCP and etc.

To be fully proactive & aware of occupational health and safety standards at workplace, ensure full compliance and also safeguarding oneself, colleagues, and the Company from any detrimental incidents.

Identify current gaps and manage the appropriate SOPs to improve work flow, work quality and efficiency.

To create and/or maintain all relevant documentation including change management / operations process and productivity.

6. Others

To perform other duties as assigned by Management from time to time.

Requirements :

Candidate must possessDegree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Industrial/Mechanical) or equivalent.

Possess high standards of integrity and personal work standards – strong knowledge, experience and skills in cross-cultural negotiation and business environment.

Proactive,self-starterand capable of managing multiple projects / priorities at once.

Experienced in rules and regulations adherence and audit process such as ISO, HALAL, HACCP, DOSH and BOMBA.

Able to think out-of-the-box, drive dynamism & encourage new ideas.

Excellence planning and project management skills are desired.

Excellent interpersonal skills, strong and focused leadership, and sociable team player.

Computer Literacy : Microsoft Office (Words, Excel & PowerPoint)

Minimum 10 years of solid Engineeringworking experience in a manufacturing environment.

Chinese (Mandarin) language speaking candidates will have an added advantage as the role may require communication with Mandarin speaking stakeholders from time to time
