Job summary

Asia Paint (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd seeks a hands-on Technical & Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations in the technical and production departments at our Gelang Patah facility.

You will coordinate cross-functional activities, drive R&D and QA/QC initiatives, maintain ISO readiness, and lead preventive maintenance and corrective actions to keep operations efficient. Strong problem-solving and customer-site support are essential.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the day-to-day operational activities of the technical department.
• Coordinating activities between technical department and other departments.
• R&D activities including new product development, formulation improvement, problem solving, technical advisory and QA/QC (especially filling and sampling).
• Report to Director on major technical/operational issues.
• Ensure operation runs efficiently in line with quality standards and business requirements.
• Participate in corrective action / cost down activities.
• Ensure good housekeeping at all times.
• Serve as Company Management Representative for ISO Certification, if any.
• Independent technical service and resolve issues at customer site.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Management.

• Regularly identify strengths and weaknesses of the operations and the opportunities and threats exist in the environment in the business operates by the Company.
• Regularly communicate strategies to key personnel and lead and motivate them to formulate their functional strategies and to ensure that it links to the business strategies.
• Ensure the operation is running efficiently in accordance with quality control standards and business requirements.
• Develop, implement and maintain preventive maintenance program for the plant.
• Participate in corrective action activities.
• Promote Company’s Philosophy and Culture in the organization.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Management from time to time.

Job description

Duties & Responsibilities - Technical (80%)

• To ensure smooth operation in the technical department by:
• overseeing the day-to-day operational activities of the technical department.
• coordinating activities between technical department and other departments.
• To perform Research & Development Activities, including new product development, formulation improvement, problem solving, technical advisory activities and QA/QC activities. (especially on filling and product sampling arrangement).
• To report to Director on major technical/operational issues.
• To ensure the operation is running efficiently in accordance with quality control standards and business requirements.
• To participate in corrective action / cost down activities.
• To ensure good housekeeping at all times.
• To serve as Company Management Representative for ISO Certification, if any.
• To be able to independently perform technical service and resolve issues at customer site
• To perform any other duties assigned by the Management from time to time.
