Job summary

Chubb Malaysia Sdn Bhd is looking for a field technician to install, configure, test and commission CCTV, access control, intrusion alarm, intercom and networking systems. You will perform cable laying, terminate and label cables, and ensure installations meet drawings and specifications.

You will conduct preventive maintenance at customer sites, diagnose faults, and restore systems within agreed SLAs while providing professional customer support and documenting all activities.

Qualifications

• Experience with ELV (extra-low voltage) installations and commissioning.
• Ability to diagnose and rectify system faults on CCTV, access control and alarm systems.
• Familiarity with maintenance routines, on-site safety, and customer communication.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, and commission CCTV, access control, intrusion alarm, intercom and networking systems.
• Carry out preventive maintenance at customer sites and restore systems within SLA.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues and escalate complex cases as needed.
• Support project engineers during installations and upgrades, and assist with handover and documentation.
• Complete service reports, maintenance checklists, and keep accurate equipment history.
• Provide professional technical support and maintain good relationships with customers and stakeholders.
• Comply with safety policies and wear PPE on site.

1. Installation & Commissioning
   Install, configure, test, and commission CCTV, access control, intrusion alarm, intercom, networking, and other ELV systems.
   Perform cable laying, trunking, conduit installation, termination, and labelling.
   Install equipment in accordance with approved drawings and technical specifications.
   Ensure all installations comply with company standards and customer requirements.

2. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
   Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance at customer sites.
   Diagnose and rectify equipment faults and system failures.
   Replace defective components and perform hardware repairs where required.
   Ensure systems are restored within agreed SLA timelines.

3. Troubleshooting & Technical Support
   Attend service calls and emergency breakdowns.
   Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
   Perform equipment testing and verify system functionality.
   Escalate complex technical issues to the Project Engineer or Technical Supervisor where necessary.

4. Project Support
   Support Project Engineers during project implementation and system upgrades.
   Assist in equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and project handover.
   Ensure project tasks are completed within the agreed schedule.

5. Documentation
   Complete service reports, maintenance checklists, and work completion forms.
   Update maintenance records and equipment history.
   Report technical findings and recommendations to supervisors.
   Ensure all documentation is accurate and submitted promptly.

6. Customer Service
   Provide professional technical support to customers.
   Explain technical issues and corrective actions to customers where appropriate.
   Respond to customer requests promptly and courteously.
   Maintain good working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

7. Health, Safety & Compliance
   Comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
   Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing site work.

Ensure all work is carried out safely and complies with statutory and customer site requirements.
Maintain good housekeeping at work sites.

1. Inventory & Tools Management
   Safeguard company tools, testing equipment, and assigned assets.
   Ensure proper handling and storage of materials and equipment.
   Report damaged or missing tools immediately.
   Monitor stock usage and request replenishment when necessary.

2. Continuous Improvement
   Participate in technical training and certification programmes.
   Keep abreast of new products, technologies, and installation techniques.
   Suggest improvements to work processes and service delivery.
