Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Malaysia (Penang/Seberang Perai) is seeking a Diploma-qualified maintenance technician to maintain tester functionality, minimize downtime, and perform DV/tester conversions per production requirements.

You will support new setups, GRR activities, and ensure housekeeping according to Quality Policy. Responsibilities include uptime for Front of Line equipment, collaboration with automation and process engineering teams, spare parts tracking, and maintaining ISO-compliant records

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechatronic, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience with testers or equipment configuring and troubleshooting.
• Experience in tester debugging or verification.
• Experience in high-mix, high-volume manufacturing.
• Good computer literacy and basic SPC knowledge.
• Strong analytical skills with hands-on attitude.
• Adaptable to rapid changes in business needs.
• Knowledge of mechanical dimensioning and tolerancing; poka-yoke is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Overall equipment uptime for Front of Line machines & fixtures.
• Willing to work overtime when needed to support operation or manpower shortages.
• Spare parts tracking, replenishment and updates.
• Collaborate with in-house automation team on new equipment release for buy-off and installation.
• Collaborate with process engineering on yield improvements related to machines & fixtures.
• Emphasize safety first attitude and zero-accident mindset.
• Maintain maintenance records per ISO requirements.
• Achieve KPIs defined by the section manager.
• Pass unfinished tasks to incoming shift to avoid duplication of effort.

Job Responsible:

• Responsible for overall equipment uptime in Front of Line machines & fixtures
• Willing to work overtime when there is need to support operation or short of manpower
• Responsible for spare parts tracking, replenishment, update
• Work closely with in house automation team on new equipment release for buy off, installation
• Work closely with process engineering team on yield improvement related to machine & fixtures

Job Requirement:

• Diploma of Mechatronic, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
• Experience in testers or equipment configuring and troubleshooting.
• Experience in tester debug or verification.
• Experienced working in high mix and high-volume manufacturing environment
• Good computer literacy and basic SPC knowledge
• Must exhibit a strong sense of analytical skills with hands on working attitude.
• Adaptable and flexible to rapid changes to the business needs of the company.
• Good knowledge of mechanical dimensioning & tolerancing analysis, poka-yoke principles will be an added advantage
