Job summary

Jabil Malaysia is seeking a versatile engineer to drive vision-based automation projects in Penang. You will develop and debug vision software, deploy on client sites, and integrate motion control with AGV/AMR platforms. Expect close collaboration with customers and cross‑functional teams.

The role involves on-site commissioning, technical training, and feasibility studies for optical/equipment selections. Travel globally may be required, with emphasis on practical, hands-on problem solving.

Qualifications

• Proficient in C#, WPF, Java and Python.
• Experience with vision libraries VisionPro, Halcon, OpenCV; AI DL preferred.
• Familiar with hardware evaluation of cameras, lenses and light sources; provide feasibility solutions.
• Strong teamwork and ability to work under pressure.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally; basic English communication.
• Familiar with operation and debugging of AGVs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct optical evaluation in early vision projects and deliver feasibility assessment reports.
• Develop and debug vision programs, and carry out on-site deployment and handover.
• Develop motion control and robot programs.
• Optimize over-rejection and under-detection issues of appearance inspection equipment on site.
• Compile software operation manuals and provide on-site training for customers.
• Perform on-site commissioning of AGV and AMR systems.

Job description

• Proficient in development languages including C#, WPF, Java and Python.
• Skilled in vision libraries such as VisionPro, Halcon and OpenCV; experience in AI deep learning projects is preferred.
• Proficient in PC-based motion control (axis control cards, I/O modules, etc.).
• Familiar with the evaluation and selection of hardware including cameras, lenses and light sources; able to provide feasibility evaluation solutions based on customer requirements.
• Possess strong teamwork spirit and ability to work under pressure.
• Able to travel domestically and internationally for work, with basic oral English communication skills.
• Familiar with the operation and debugging of one type of AGV.
