Job summary

Precision Control is seeking an automation engineer in Malaysia to support project execution, site work, commissioning and troubleshooting. You will read electrical drawings, perform instrument checks, and program/control systems while collaborating with vendors and contractors.

The role requires travel to customer sites and strong English/Bahasa Malaysia communication. Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in electrical and electronic engineering, Siemens PLC experience (Step 7, TIA, PCS7), and

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of working experience in electrical and automation fields.
• Tertiary education in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• Extensive PLC programming experience with Siemens PLCs (Step 7, TIA, PCS7).
• Experience in PLC programming, HMI/SCADA, system integration and troubleshooting.
• Able to travel to customer sites as required.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; other languages advantageous.
• Strong leadership, collaboration and communication skills; team player.

Responsibilities

• Support project execution, site work, commissioning and troubleshooting.

Job description

What Our Team Does?

• Support project execution, site work, commissioning and troubleshooting
• Read and understand electrical drawings / P&IDs
• Troubleshoot instrumentation, including basic instrument signal checking, loop checking and identifying instrument-related issues.
• Perform programming and integration of the control systems, designing the control panel and subpanels as well as generating the I/O lists.
• Carry out integration and commissioning of an array of instrumentation as well as control systems
• Carry out engineering, PLC and SCADA software interface programming.
• Develop process functional design including control write-up and control schematics.
• Develop hardware and software design specification and other software/test documentation.
• Carry out diagnosis and resolution of electrical, instrumentation and control systems
• Ensuring on time completion of commissioning activities.
• Working closely with equipment vendors, contractors, sub-contractors and other departments to troubleshoot and resolve system errors as well as provide technical support.

Do You Have What It Takes?

• At least 2 to 3 years working experience
• Tertiary education in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or relevant discipline
• Extensive programming experience in Step 7 / TIA & PCS7 for Siemens PLC, S7-1200 / S7-1500 / S7-400H - TIA Portal / PCS7
• Experience in PLC programming, HMI/SCADA, system integration and troubleshooting
• Basic understanding of electrical control panels, instrumentation, and industrial automation systems.
• Willing to travel to customer sites when required.
• Fluent in English & Bahasa Malaysia. Other languages are an added advantage.
• Excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.A team player and at the same time able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Candidates with system integration / automation project experience are preferred.
