Job summary

Blue Fortress Sdn. Bhd. in Alor Setar, Kedah, invites a junior System Engineer to join the IT security team. You will support implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cybersecurity technologies within enterprise environments, under guidance of senior engineers and team leads.

You will gain hands-on experience with encryption, identity management, and network security, while developing a strong technical foundation for future growth in IT security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
• 1-2 years of experience in IT Security or related technical role; fresh grads welcome with cybersecurity knowledge.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, protocols, and technologies.
• Experience in IT security, cybersecurity distribution, or a technology vendor is a plus.
• Familiarity with encryption, identity management, authentication systems, and network security.
• Knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices.
• Ability to present and explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Analytical mindset to troubleshoot security challenges.
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP Associate or vendor certifications are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• System Support and Maintenance - Deploy, configure, and maintain security technologies (on-prem, cloud, HSM, CLM, identity management, network security).
• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution - Monitor systems, identify issues, support resolution under supervision.
• Incident Response and Risk Mitigation - Investigate incidents, assist with response plans, apply patches.
• Documentation and Reporting - Maintain system records, prepare reports, develop user guides.
• Collaboration and Learning - Work with senior engineers to enhance security solutions and stay updated on IT security trends.
• Research - Explore emerging technologies and best practices to improve security operations.
• System Optimization - Support automation and improvements to enhance performance and security.
