Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a cybersecurity specialist to design, implement, and maintain security controls across applications, infrastructure, and cloud systems in Malaysia. The role requires expertise in network, application, and cloud security, with hands-on experience in firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection.

Strong analytical and incident response skills are essential, and scripting in Python or Bash is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or a related field.
• 2–5+ years of experience in cybersecurity or security engineering roles.
• Strong understanding of network, application, and cloud security concepts, with cloud platform familiarity.
• Experience with security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and incident response skills; scripting (Python or Bash) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across applications, infrastructure, and cloud systems
• Monitor systems for threats, vulnerabilities, and suspicious activities
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation tracking
• Work with development and DevOps teams to ensure secure coding and DevSecOps practices
• Manage identity and access controls (authentication and authorization)
• Respond to security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and support audits, risk assessments, compliance, and continuous security improvement
